I need some interior design teen room help…..?
Ok, so I have a room thats painted pale plae green, like almost white. I’m planning on having lime green, purple, and white shadow boxes above the bed, maybe turquiose as well. I have black and white bedding, with purple throws and pillows. I have a white cube organizer thing from target. I’m planning on painting the back, landscape areas, lime green, turquiose, and purple. Today I am going to Ikea. I want to get a desk, bed, dresser, and bedside table. Oh and chair for the desk. What color furniture should I get? Black or White? or mix it up, which is what I was thinking…… And probably a lime green desk chair. Most of the colors you’re planning to use in your room seem to be generally light. Thus I wouldn’t recommend completely black furniture; the items you specify will be large, and would darken the room too much.
White is usually a pretty neutral color; you may also want to get a more natural wood color (which is an option for a lot of IKEA furniture.) One desk I did like on the IKEA website (based on the rooms on your websites) was the Micke desk, which has a very sleek postmodern look; I loved the white/black version.
I think the lime green desk chair is a really great idea; it would really bring out the green in the walls.
Otherwise, I think white would probably be your best bet. Black/white is okay too, so long as black isn’t the most dominant color. Little accent pieces like a brightly colored Lack side table (from IKEA) would look really cool too
