I recently removed some pretty hideous floral wallpaper from my kitchen. It is SO bright now I love the open?
feeling it has. We want to put up a tile backsplash to pretect the wall (and give it some style) Do you think white is the way to go? I just don’t want to commit to colored tiles as it’s way to permanent and I love the open airy feeling the “plain” white walls give.
Any ideas? Our cupboards/counter top and floor are pretty dark. We’d likely replace the counter tops before we do the tile.

i personally use white tile for the reason you gave- you’re not committed to a color. if you have a “vintage” kitchen, white subway tile would work really well for a backsplash but try maybe a colored grout since white grout is extremely hard to keep looking good, especially in a food prep area (i know, my old kitchen was all white tile and white grout- i had to bleach the grout every week it seemed!). if your kitchen is more modern, try a 4″ square tile in a brick pattern or diamond pattern. another choice is to do white tile with an accent tile like a row of glass tile in shades of your favorite color, then you can have a few choices when it comes to wall color to match but the backsplash will look more custom.
